These creep me out: Balding older men with long gray ponytails (give it up already), Barbie dolls and her male doll friends, Ken (G.I Joe seriously wants to kick your ass), People with lazy eyes (which one do you look at?), Women body builders (yuk), and the fact that I think G.I. Joe could kick Ken’s ass.

It’s called exotropia or strabismus. The rectus muscles of the eyeball are weak and suffer from low muscle tone. One eye focuses more on distant objects than the other.

Good ones, Tom. Toy Story 3 does a pretty good job of mocking Ken, which is very nice to see.

Is it just me, or does that Wizard of Oz flying monkey look like Ben Stiller?

You know what? Paint Ben blue and put a bellboy hat on him — Yes!

    Toddlers who wear glasses.

It’s not like they have to read or operate machinery or anything, right? I mean, is it really that big of a deal if they can’t see perfectly? I don’t care if it means he’ll fall over more– its creeping me out and I want it to stop.

Toddlers shouldn’t wear glasses. They should only wear high heels and a lot of make-up and compete in beauty contests, as nature intended.

The guy on WOR Channel 9 when I was a kid who gave PSA’s and then looked into the camera going “What’s your opinion? We’d like to know..” I was terrified of him.

Actually Mr. OK, that was channel 11 (WPIX). And his name was Richard N. Hughes. And it’s kinda creepy that I remember that.

Are you sure it was WPIX? I’m certain I have memories of them announcing “Please mail your comments to our studios in Secaucus, NJ (talk about creepy..) which would have been Channel 9..but yes, exceedingly creepy that you remember his name!

Do you remember an ad on Channel 9 or 11 for a kind of haunted-house near Great Adventure, they had a commercial with some vampire type guy that scared the hell out me as a kid..can’t remember the name of the place at all..

Oh, and the creepiest thing of my entire childhood was Gordon Jump’s guest-spot on “Different Strokes”..you know the one I mean..yikes…

Wait, my last two examples were supposed to be creepy! They don’t count here then…

Oh well, off the top of my head, Carol Channing always gave me the creeps as a kid..

Definitely PIX, definitely. The haunted house was in Long Branch, right? Yes, Carol Channing, very creepy. And I disagree about the Gordon Jump Diff’rent Strokes — that was hot. And I think Dudley was asking for it.

What were they thinking putting that on during afternoon kids shows, scared me half to death!

Will try to find it and link later, the “School Bus Safety” film we saw in junior high had one of the creepiest bus drivers possible, looked like a psychotic Willie the Groundskeeper..

That friggin’ mouth robot on youtube, the Puttermans (an 80’s battery commercial campaign) and the Neil Leads cartoon character from the Leads Mattress Store, actually the real Neil looks pretty creepy too.

I love the Leeds reference! My family and I all say the same thing — creepy cartoon version of a creepy real life guy. I only wish they’d expand nationally so I could use him in my next book!
